​Women Leading In Excellence Award Program
Arizona Women Leading Government (AZWLG) is accepting nominations for its first annual Women Leading in Excellence Award Program!

Through the “Women Leading in Excellence Award Program”, AZ WLG aims to recognize an individual who is committed to the advancement of women into leadership positions within local government in Arizona. AZ WLG believes that some ways that this can be accomplished includes leading by example, mentoring and expanding the boundaries of women’s contributions within the public sector. 

Any active AZ WLG member employed by a governmental agency or affiliated organization is eligible. 

If you know someone who has made a difference and is passionate about the success of women in government in Arizona, we encourage you to nominate them for this award. Anyone who works with an eligible nominee can nominate a deserving woman for 
​this award. 

The award recipient will be recognized during the AZ WLG Annual Conference, presented with an award, and provided with complimentary registration to the conference as well as up to $500 in travel reimbursement!

​Jane L. Morris Women Leading Government Scholarship

The Jane L. Morris Women Leading Government Scholarship recognizes women in local government in honor of Jane
L. Morris, former Executive Director/CEO of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

Through this scholarship fund Arizona Women Leading Government (AZ WLG) will award the following to one individual:
 
Award Amount

• One complimentary registration to attend the 2024 AZ WLG annual conference.
• Up to $500 in travel reimbursement*
  *Scholarship recipients to provide receipts from travel expenses for reimbursement following conference.
• One complimentary AZ WLG membership.

 
Evaluation Criteria 

1. Working within government or actively seeking a career and/or advancement in government
2. AZ WLG or non-AZ WLG members are eligible to apply
3. Potential for future public service (not about to retire or shift to private sector)
4. First time attending an AZ WLG Conference
   1. Financial Need
   2. Size of Organization
5. Scope of Job Responsibilities
6. Strength of Application
